LABRADOR KAYAK
Replica of the Musee de Beaux-Arts (Rennes, FR) kayak 1794.1.781.

Prior to the transfer of this kayak to the museum, it had been in the private collection of Christophe-Paul de Robien (1698-1756). No collection information has accompanied the kayak, and it is very likely to be the oldest intact Canadian kayak in the world. The kayak measures 22'7" long and 24-3/4" wide.

Frame completed October, 2013.

On the water at Hood Canal. 2016.
